About Scotsys
What's in a name...
Scotsys was founded in the mid-1980s by my late father, Joe McAuley, and his business partner, the late Pat Docherty. Together, they established one of Scotland's largest IT services and training providers, serving the Education and Print & Design sectors. Although the business was sold and eventually merged, leading to the loss of the Scotsys name, its legacy continues to inspire our commitment to excellence with our professional coaching.
Vision
When I embarked on my journey to set-up my professional coaching, enhance your golf and breakthrough business, the name Scotsys naturally came to mind. At first, I joked that SYS stood for “Sort Your Shit!” because let’s be honest, sometimes we all need to. But as my vision evolved, so did the meaning of SYS:

Meet Brian McAuley
My Background
With a commitment to delivering the highest quality business coaching across organisations, I partner with select coaching professionals throughout Europe and beyond. However, I personally lead individual coaching engagements, ensuring a tailored and impactful experience.
I bring over 18 years of experience in the IT sector, where I held senior operational and business development roles. I also founded and led my own social care business for seven years, successfully selling it in 2018. Following this, I served as General Manager and Secretary of Lanark Golf Club before transitioning into senior management within NHS Scotland. For the past five years, my focus has been on driving culture change and fostering compassionate leadership.
Based in St Andrews, I enjoy golf, beach walks, and spending time with my wife, Gillian, and our two dogs. We also welcome occasional visits from our three grown-up children.
