About Scotsys
What's in a name...
Scotsys was founded in the mid-1980s by my late father, Joe McAuley, and his business partner, the late Pat Docherty. Together, they established one of Scotland's largest IT services and training providers, serving the Education and Print & Design sectors. Although the business was sold and eventually merged, leading to the loss of the Scotsys name, its legacy continues to inspire our commitment to excellence with our professional coaching.

When I embarked on my journey to set-up my coaching and peak performance business, the name Scotsys naturally came to mind. At first, I joked that SYS stood for “Sort Your Shit!” because let’s be honest, sometimes we all need to. But as my vision evolved, so did the meaning of SYS:

At Scotsys, I deliver mindset coaching for high performers—on the course, in the boardroom, and under exam pressure.
My signature Golf Mindset Mastery programme helps elite amateurs and pros remove mental blocks, manage pressure, and play with clarity and confidence.
I also coach professionals and students to succeed in high-stakes moments through Exam & Interview Edge, and support senior leaders with Elevate Coaching—ICF-aligned, outcomes-driven coaching for consistent, values-led performance.
My background spans 18+ years in leadership across IT, healthcare, and golf—blending executive experience with advanced NLP, TimeLine Therapy™ and coaching to help clients think sharper, feel freer, and perform at their best when it matters most.
Based in St Andrews, I’m most at home on the fairways, along the Fife coast with my wife and dogs, or catching up with our grown-up kids.
